NFL Recap: Broncos Narrowly Beat Hapless Jets in Defensive Battle

In a low-scoring contest this weekend, the Broncos managed to secure a 13-11 win over the struggling New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix connected on a first-quarter scoring strike and specialist Wil Lutz kicked the late go-ahead field goal to seal the hard-fought win.

Defensive Performance Wins Game

Despite registering nine sacks against Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 after giving up a safety in the third quarter. Remarkably, the Jets could only produce just 82 total net yards during the contest.

The Denver quarterback, who completed 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, led a critical 12-play, 65-yard drive that ended with Lutz's 27-yard kick with just over five minutes remaining.

Historic Struggles for Jets Offense

Despite their horrendous performance, the Jets still had the ball with a chance to drive for a potential winning score. But Fields was sacked on fourth down from the Denver 44 when head coach Aaron Glenn opted to attempt the conversion rather than calling on specialist Nick Folk for a long field-goal attempt.

The Jets quarterback had difficulties all game, completing just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. New York finished with negative ten net yards passing, the lowest in any game since 1998.

"Our passing game was non-existent," the coach commented after the contest.
